The 2009 edition of ShContemporary (September 9-13) had five exceptional days, where 30,000 visitors from China, Asia, Australia, Europe, Canada and the US and more than 500 registered collectors flocked to the Shanghai Exhibition Center en masse, to catch a glimpse of the latest offerings that the recovering global contemporary and Asian art markets have to offer. The extremely positive signal which emerged during the fair is the confirmation of the upturn of the Asian collectors market.

Very positive sales were reported in addition to the strong presence of Chinese, Asian, European and American collectors. This was due in large part to the successful launch of the Asia Pacific Collector Development Programme which commenced on September 10th with a magnificent Gala Dinner presented by The Singapore FreePort at which nearly 300 collectors participated.
